Linda Duffett-Leger, PhD, RN

Dr. Linda Duffett-Leger is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary. Her innovative research focuses on co-designing smart solutions to address real-world health and wellness issues. A registered nurse and educator, a line of Duffett-Leger’s research explores the physical health and mental wellbeing of nurses, as they transition to practice and across their career trajectories. In particular, she is interested in identifying the factors and activities that place nurses at risk for work-related injuries and develop, with nurses, effective intervention and prevention strategies.

Amy Beck, PhD, RN, CCHN(C)

Amy Beck is a doctoral candidate in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary. Her research focuses on adolescent sleep and how wearable technologies can improve sleep hygiene and duration. She is also interested in using participatory design methods to develop mobile and wearable technology, with individuals, to monitor and manage their health and wellness. Before graduate school, Amy worked as a registered nurse for 10 years, specializing in cardiology and community health. Outside of academic life, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband Jeff and their Airedale Terriers.

Katherine Bright, PhD, RN

Dr. Katherine Bright is a postdoctoral fellow in the Cumming School of Medicine, Department of Community Health Sciences and is an emerging clinician scientist trainee in the Programs and Institutes Looking to Launch Academic Researchers (PILLAR) with the Canadian Child Health Clinician Scientist Program (CCHCSP). She is a registered nurse with over 18 years of clinical background in mental health nursing focused on promoting child, youth, maternal, and family wellbeing. Her research explores how innovative approaches and models of care, such as internet-delivered, digital, and eMental health, can be leveraged to contribute to sustainable mental health services and service transformation that result in real-world improvements in the lives of children, youth, mothers, and families.

Christina Doré, PhD, RN

Dr Christina Doré, RN PhD is currently a Course Instructor in the Ingram School of Nursing at McGill University (Montreal, Quebec). A registered nurse and an educator, her research interests are related to the wellness at work, empowerment and burnout prevention among nurses as well as Nephrology Nursing care.

Andrea Stelnicki, PhD, RP

Andrea Stelnicki, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral fellow at the Canadian Institute of Public Safety Research and Treatment (CIPSRT) at the University of Regina. Dr. Stelnicki’s research interests broadly focus on  (1) evidence-based treatment for public safety personnel and (2) supporting the mental health of public safety and military-connected families. Dr. Stelnicki is currently heading several projects evaluating programs to support the mental health of public safety personnel, and development of a complementary family program. She recently completed a large-scale study of the mental health of Canadian nurses that found nurses are at-risk of posttraumatic stress injuries due in part to job-specific situations. Dr. Stelnicki is also a registered psychologist in Alberta and keeps a small private practice focused on assessment and intervention for children, adolescents and their families.
